A Hunter in the garden

We finished off last hebdomad with Lynn Felici - Gallant ’s container creations , and we ’ll start this week with her frump , Hunter , in her garden . hunting watch is Lynn ’s gardening companion , and has quite a narrative .

Lynn says,“In February 2010 , my dog , Hunter , a four - twelvemonth - old Golden Retriever , was diagnosed with a very strong-growing off-white cancer . He was given four to six calendar month to live unless he had surgery and radiation . There was some evidence from blood tests that the genus Cancer had spread . The operating theatre would remove one-half of his bottom mandibular bone , and would cost upwards of $ 5,000 . There was no warrantee they could eradicate the Crab .

My hubby and I push over our options for 60 minutes , and finally decided against surgery , preferring alternatively to give Hunter the best quality of sprightliness we could for as long as he had . I carry the state of affairs on Facebook , and one reply changed the course of Hunter ’s sprightliness — a friend hint we see Dr. Hannah Wells , a holistic vet in the area . Hannah is educatee of Formosan herbal medicine . She take Hunter ’s biopsy , examined his records , and studied his “ chi . ” She explicate the possibility of Taiwanese herbal medicine — that all foods are assigned a rut or cool index , and that treatment is order according to the temperature of the ailment , the beast ’s temperature , and food that are know to counter the condition ( at least that is how I translate it ) .

It has been sixteen months since Hunter was name with cancer , and his tumor has entirely evaporate . He is at a sodding weight , and is very sound ( and spoiled ) . There is no evidence that he is sickish in any room . We are convinced that his treatment is a testament to the tycoon of alternative medicine , a sanitary , chemical - free diet comprised primarily of constitutive vegetables , and a tremendous amount of love . The double of Hunter anticipating , and then running with the ball , were need weeks after he was look to go by on , and are cogent evidence in themselves that he is n’t going anywhere for a long while . Plus , we have a raw season of kale , Petroselinum crispum , and Brassica oleracea italica growing for him in the garden ; if he left us , we ’d have to start eating as well as he does . ”
