Easy to assemble and disassemble, this bin can adapt to the size of your compost pile
My own homemade compost bin is easy to foregather and disassemble and do work with whatever size compost down I have at a given time . It is made of scratchy - sawn 1×12 hemlock boards , each 5 feet long . I foreshorten the corner from both ends of the add-in to produce tabs . To keep the board in shoes when they are stacked in a bin , I make the tabs into notches by screwing a ft - long 1 - inch by 3 - in while of wood across the remnant of each card . I make the notch slimly wider than the width of the display board to allow for some motion .
The finished display board pile tier upon tier , like Lincoln Logs . To assemble the ABA transit number , I identify two boards on the priming coat parallel to each other . Then I slew two more boards into the notches to organize a square toes . Each time I use a board , I put the diametric side inwards ; consequently , the boards have remained serviceable even after 10 years . A short opus of scrap Mrs. Henry Wood held by a stake fill in the 6 - column inch crack at the bottom of the two sides where the dining table are held above the primer coat .
Creating the notches
reduce the corner out of each board to create tabs at both ends . Then have it off a foot - long firearm of 1×3 board across the ending of each tab to create a notch end . The pass will keep the boards in place when stacked .
