Briggs & Stratton has produced lawn - lawn mower engine and pocket-size engines in the U.S. for decades . Briggs & Stratton uses various alternators to produce electrical energy and charge batteries , depending on the voltage and ampere requirements of the engine and stamp battery .
Things Needed
Briggs & Stratton has produced lawn - mower engine and small engines in the U.S. for 10 . Briggs & Stratton uses various alternator to grow electrical energy and electric charge batteries , depending on the electromotive force and ampere requirements of the engine and battery . However , wiring a Briggs & Stratton alternator is an easy task . Most use two terminals : some only use one and , best of all , the wires but plug away into terminal socket on the alternator .
Step 1
Put on a pair of mitt to protect your hand while wiring your Briggs & Stratton alternator . enter the battery box cover version .
Step 2
hit the red confident cable fromthe positive battery terminalusing a wrench . move out the black negative cable television from the negative battery terminal . The terminals are clearly marked " + " and " - " respectively .
Step 3
settle the Briggs & Stratton alternator attached to the locomotive engine block . Look on the back to determine how many terminus it has : one or two . If it has two , one is the undercoat and is labeled " Gnd " and the other pole connects a wire to the rectifier to exchange alternating current ( AC ) into direct current ( DC ) and is labeled " AC . " If it has one it mean the alternating is self - grounding and no connection is necessitate as it ’s grounded directly onto the alloy locomotive engine engine block .
Step 4
Find the cable , or cables , near the alternator . If the alternator has two terminal , one cable is black for negative and the other red for positive . Both have plastic form plug on the end and can only be connected to the correct terminal . If the alternator has one terminal , then locate the cherry cable television .
Step 5
Insert the hack on the end of the black cable system into the terminal socket pronounce " Gnd " , if it has one . sneak in the plug on the end of the red telegram into the terminal socket label " AC . "
Step 6
Reconnect the black negative barrage fire cable to the negative battery depot using a wrench . Reconnect the red positive barrage cable onto the positive battery terminal using a wrench . shut the battery box blanket .
