Highlights of the June garden
Carla Zambelli Mudry , a frequent contributor to the GPOD ( see , for example , hereandhere ) , is back , share some highlighting of her June garden .
Happy June , all right horticulture ! There is lots in flower in my garden in Malvern , Pennsylvania , so I am sending you photo .
My hydrangeas are all getting quick to blossom , and some are already blossom . I have lots of different varieties , so I have a longsighted blooming season with my hydrangeas . This makes me very felicitous because they are among my favorite summertime plants .

A beautiful blue , lacecap - trend hydrangea . Hydrangeas will , of course of study , produce the bluest blossom in acid ground and pinker flowers in more alkaline soils . They involve atomic number 13 to produce the blue paint , and in alkaline conditions aluminum bind tightly to the grime so that plant life ca n’t absorb it . In more acidic soils , the aluminum is useable for roots to take up and hydrangeas to use to make blue blossom .
A mophead - stylus hydrangea , complemented perfectly by the bush around it .
An oakleaf hydrangea ( Hydrangea quercifolia , Zones 5–9 ) , with beautiful leaves and large , pyramidical blossom head .

Hydrangea paniculata(Zones 3–8 ) in bud , ready to keep the hydrangea season going longer .
The rose wine are go potent . This is my first red rose ever ( David Austin ’s Benjamin Britton ) , and I suppose it ’s gorgeous !
Other rose wine are also bloom as well . This is my ‘ Queen Elizabeth ’ grandiflora rise .

perennial such asMonarda(bee ointment , Zones 3–9 ) are also starting to pop .
‘ Stella D’Oro ’ was the first daylily this year to open up .
I love this pot on my front paseo that has pansies , hot pink yarrow(Achillea millifolium , Zones 3–9 ) , and red geranium .
