Scenes from a garden that keeps growing and developing
My name is Jill Beringer , and I go in a development in Hockessin , Delaware , on about half an acre . I submitted pic once before when my garden was in itsinitial phase , but my passion for horticulture keep ! I keep finding ways to add water lineament and hardscape walls and path , partly out of requirement ( to bring up the plants out of my swampy railway yard ) but also for interest . My married man and I have moved over 7 gross ton of rock multiple clock time and delve ditch for drainage piping , and we ’re still not done . I also winter many nonhardy plant life in my basement , as they add needed height and color to the garden once they get going again in the spring . But as the trees grow , it ’s cause harder and harder to find the sunlight . This , fuse with my desire to help the birds and the pollinator , exhort me to keep reducing the lawn area . That mean less oeuvre for my hubby but more for me ! It ’s a body of work in progress , but here are some photos of my garden to date .
Here ’s a summer sentiment of the garden . Lantanas ( Lantanacamara ) are unremarkably grown as annuals , but they rise into humble shrubs in warm clime . By bringing this one inside to winter , Jill gets dramatic height out of it .
natural spring blooms let in dark red primrose ( Primulajaponica , Zones 3–9 ) . This type of primrose bonk moist grime , so it is a good fit for Jill ’s quaggy M .
