Though being swift can help . We ’re nine month into our new gardens now , and we ’ve worked intemperately to get them into production . We replanted and quicken our Grocery Row Gardens , imbed a good herb garden , institute probably 50 trees in the yard , plus have a chicken coop and grunter playpen created – as well as set up a milking area and turning a horse pastureland into a moo-cow forage .
This year ’s garden yields , as of June 11th :
496lbs of green goods so far , and 1,423 eggs .
No , it does n’t say “ lasagna ” at the bottom – that ’s the annotation for “ Red La Soda ” potatoes .
Suffice it to say that the Grocery Row Gardens are doing much well here than at The Barren Sand Pit of Death where they used to be constitute . Soil makes a big deviation .
We also found a good herb garden here , for the first time in a long metre .
It ’s begin to meet in . We ’re going to regenerate some of the scraggy surface area beside it and extend the beds a bit , as we have more herbaceous plant we require to domesticate .
Along with herbs , we ’ve put a few blossom in these seam . include dahlias :
A couple of roses , of which one is currently in bloom :
And this footling daisy , which I dug from an empty lot in downtown Pensacola :
We also have some of the herb themselves in flower right now , including catnip :

That bare patch after the herbaceous plant garden area is presently to be planted with a sun hemp concealment craw . We just pulled out the tater and re - tilled the orbit to suppress weeds . If we do n’t plant it tight , the weeds will be right back .
We pushed hard to get our garden running again , and we ’re starting to reap the benefit . I think we ’ll well pass 1,000lbs of produce this yr – and it should get better in subsequent years , as the grease improves and the perennial come into product .
In other news show , we ’re working on restocking the nursery today . If all goes well , we ’ll have another plant sales event this coming Saturday .
