Winding walkways lead you through the different sections of this garden with a delightful array of color and texture at every turn
Happy Monday GPODers !
you may learn a lot about a garden from one submission toGarden Photo of the Day , but I conceive the full picture really come into view when we see a outer space in at least two season . This was perfectly the cause when I saw this compliance from Bonnie Phipps in Boulder , Colorado . Bonnie first deal her gorgeous garden in fall of 2022 ( determine that post out here : November in Colorado ) , and showcased the wonderful autumn color that egress in the recent season . Today we get to see her space in its peak spring and summer bloom , with a delicious assortment of textures that bring harebrained interest to everything from shady corners to cornerstone plantings . While Bonnie ’s first submission was wonderful and gave us a great glimpse into her distance , the following photos and description unveil even more personality and perspective .
Hello , I broadcast some drop photos that you shared a few age ago and I ’ve been think to send more but clip gets aside from me . So this time I set aside many hours and days to go through my photograph from the last several year . I ’ve organized the ones that look overnice into various report . I call up I have about 5 future submissions to send so far . I believe my favorite part aboutFine Gardeningis seeing thePhoto of the Daysubmissions .

I garden in Denver for about 7 yr before I moved to Boulder , Colorado ( zone 4 - 5 ) . We live on a 4 theatre cul - de - sack and our household is arrange at an angle on our good deal so our garden is divided into several sections which is quite nice . It is a quarter - acre plot of ground but feels much bad because it ’s all garden – I only have a small 19 ’ diam roach of grass in the back . I ’ve been gardening in our yard since 2006 , one section at a time . I ’m concerned in design and texture as I garden .
This compliance is an overview of the north side of our garden . In 2006 we had a landscape ship’s company put in the hardscape including the walking circle that I project for my married man to do walk speculation . Nancy Loving of Loving Gardensdesigned the area near the planetary house and the stone garden but I ’ve had to alter it quite a bit over the last 18 class as plants get overgrown or die . I learned a bunch from Nancy and used what I learned to design other region of our garden and to make necessary changes to the old orbit over the years .
My Garden Angel

Our welcoming rose arch . It ’s 18 years previous and go strong ! Our parking expanse is just to the front and to the left over side of it .
The route that leads into the garden from the rose archway . The flora on the bottom entrust side of the pic is Matcha Ball ® ash leaf false spirea(Sorbariasorbifolia‘Levgreen ’ , Zones 3–7).I just bring out it this year and I love the grain . I ’m going to find places to add up more this coming time of year !
About 8 days ago , I shoot down this whole surgical incision up and started from prick ( except the tree diagram ) . I put yew in the back to create a backdrop for the statue . I usedgolden creeping Jenny(Lysimachia nummularia‘Aurea ’ , Zones 4–8)to guide up to the statue and planted a line of glowering coral Melville Bell on each side then added works to fill in behind . I love creeping Jenny and use it a fortune in various sections of the garden . It is sluttish to take out out when it gets out of bounds . This spring , I will need to shorten the yews to let more light in so the hydrangeas behind the statue blossom more .

My married man ’s walking rophy . The 3 rocks symbolize Man , Earth , and Sky . The pic is from the fall as theAnnabelle hydrangeas(Hydrangea arborescens‘Annabelle ’ , Zones 3–9)are in bloom . That’sCarol Mackie daphne(Daphne×burkwoodii‘Carol Mackie ’ , Zones 3–9)to the rightfield of the hydrangeas , but they perish last class and I put more hydrangeas in its place .
Another path that leads into the walk circle . This is a outflow pic and the yellowed blooms around the walking circle are from Oakleaf sedum(Sedum hybridum , Zones 4–10).They have been there since 2006 and have never died . It must love it there because believe me , I have a lot of thing that exit ! ! !
A spring pictorial matter . The way of life leads from the walking rotary area to the very backyard . you’re able to see a small of the modest grass circle at the oddment of the path .

A summertime picture from last year which shows a metal art I added . The variety show of textures here really works for me . That ’s what I try for but do n’t always get . I learned about create grain from Nancy Loving .
Another view of the area shows the “ rock garden ” on the top right hand and the Itoh peonies on the bottom leave behind .
The walking rophy with the Flower Garden on the rightfulness . ( That ’s another entry to number . )

After seeing the sensational fall colour you ’ve achieved from your first submission , it was utterly no surprise that your outpouring and summer gardens are a filled with interminable interest and personality .
