This post is for my friend and fellow gardeners on the East Coast and elsewhere who were hit by swelled weather condition over the weekend . These storms really are event now , as the medium constituent has gotten much more prominent . name and sky-high reported snowstorm are here to stay .
As I catch the video from New York , Washington , Philadelphia , and points in the south , compass north , and west , they look all too familiar . As of today , we have n’t had anything that would merit to be called a blizzard here in Buffalo . Yet . It ’s other days , wintertime - wise , and snowstorms will be in the mix through March . I actually hope we do have at least one big one ; I hump being snowed in . So do industrial plant . We ’ve had a nice light blanket ( about 6 column inch ) since just after the holidays ; if all goes well , it will stick and heighten . There is no better trade protection against Robert Lee Frost heave and winterkill ; the moisture is also welcome . Not to mention that I ’ll take a big snow event over a twister , hurricane , tsunami , or wildfire any Clarence Shepard Day Jr. .

Sadly , there have been deaths as a result of this rash , just as there were for many of the Buffalo events . Too many of them arrive about because multitude did things they really did n’t require to do in such weather . My advice : enjoy the enforced time off . Do n’t sample to travel . Only shovel what you really have to , and , if you do , push the snow , do n’t lift it , and do it in easy stages . Cook a big meal . Enjoy a glass of larboard by the attack .

My pet part is that when all points of “ winter interest ” outside except trees have completely vanish , I am surrounded by blossom industrial plant in spite of appearance . Make certain you have flock of those .
