I get a pile of emails from you guys . Pictures of sick plant , pictures of sizeable plants , picture of pumpkins and plenty more . Every Clarence Day someone novel bring out myTotally Crazy Easy Florida Gardeningbook and I get a mickle of “ give thanks you ! ” email from Florida gardeners . It ’s grand and it observe me maturate . Er , die . Or both , really .
Today I thought I ’d share some late pictures from reader .
First , here ’s a shot from Spencer , who is pushing the zone with pineapples under oaks ( though he ’s in South Georgia , we ’ll let him into this office ):

Spencer also sent a shot of himself with his first Sugar Baby watermelon :
Heck yeah , military man . Nothing like homegrown melons . He evidence me that was an early , early one which ripen small , before all the rest .
Spencer also has done well with tomato plant this year :

That ’s just not fair . Tomatoes never do well for me . Thanks for the pic , Spencer .
Brian sends in a icon of a homegrown Seminole pumpkin :

And on the topic of pumpkins , Greg drop a line in with some big Seminole pumpkin winner of his own .
“ Last year I took your advice about selection crop after learn one of your Quran . I then purchased various heirloom cum from Baker Creek seed company . One of the seed variety was Seminole pumpkins . I wasVERY impressedwith these seed , they are tough ! I uprise them last summer(2017 ) with slight irrigation or amendment in the harsh center Georgia summertime . My Cucurbita pepo were small and hourglass shaped . As you’re able to see from the picture of my then 3yr old son standing in the kitchen . ”
“ I gave my sister a few Seminole pumpkin seeds . She sowed them at the same I did but in the pile of lawn cutting at the border of forest her front chiliad . She irrigate them when she think about it and she never amended or added plant food . Her pumpkin vine grew to an enormous sizing as you’re able to see with my Logos on her front porch . ”

Seminole Cucurbita pepo are my preferent pumpkin , which is why I recommend them so extremely inTotally Crazy Easy Florida Gardening . They also love to rise from compost .
And speaking ofTotally Crazy Easy Florida Gardening , here ’s my friend Holly grow snake bean ( another one of my recommended crop ) in a rather unique way :

Meanwhile , in Fort Lauderdale , my mom sent me pictures of the Barbados ( Acerola ) cherry tree which is now recovering from being break to the ground during Hurricane Irma .
After the tempest , the tree was broken off at the ground , half the roots snapped off . Mom ask me what to do and I recommended cutting off the tree at about 2′ tall , then propping it back up and praying it would cure . My brother - in - practice of law took care of it and it looks like that did the fast one .
Dad and I found that tree just a few year ago and it ’s already been a massive producer of cherries year - round . My nieces and nephews love it , as do the children visit my momma .

Vicky also had issues with almost losing Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree in storm harm . She writes :
“ I do n’t know if you recall netmail me & told me not to sully anything on the wound of the neem tree . I did n’t even cut her back . My hubby staked her & countless other tree up , we said a petition and look at her now ! ”

And speaking of huge , let ’s look at some immense corn .

“ Hickory King ” is a BIG corn . 12′ , sometimes . I ’m getting ready to plant some of my own now that the rainwater is starting to come . One of my favorite varieties .

And talk of favorites , here ’s one of my favorite ladies proving she has excellent fashion signified :
